Paul Calvillo D.C is a Forest City chiropractor who serves Forest City and the surrounding communities in NC .
Dr. Calvillo combines his 20 plus years of experience with his high level of commitment to conservative, effective, drug free care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Dr. Calvillo takes a "whole person" approach to chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and we work diligently to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. Under the supervision and care of our caring and skilled chiropractor, patients report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1995 from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science from Colorado State University. Dr. Calvillo received multiple academic achievement awards during his doctorate training and was invited to be and served as a teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology as well as various adjusting techniques. Prior to beginning his chiropractic education, he was employed as an assistant in three busy physical therapy practices, one of which specialized in sports injuries at the prestigious Denver Athletic Club.
Since 1995 he has been certified by the state of North Carolina in the use of both chiropractic and acupuncture. Dr. Calvillo's advanced training helps him speed the healing process by utilizing muscle, ligament and soft tissue treatments. In addition, an integral part of our treatment is education regarding healthy living, healthy diet, and home exercise programs to rehabilitate injured joints and affected muscles. He began extensive training in the use of Active Release Technique (ART) in 2014 and is currently certified in spine and lower extremities. He will be full body certified in ART by the middle of 2017. Dr. Calvillo has a passion for treating athletic injuries of any kind and currently provides care for high level high school and college athletes as well as serious adult athletes involved in Cross Fit and various martial arts.
